About the TSHL Foundation

The mission of the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature (TSHL) Foundation is to provide the TSHL with the resources to improve the knowledge and skills of its membership in formulating their public policy recommendations.

The TSHL Foundation was established in 1985 as a non-profit 501(c)3 agency to raise funds to support TSHL. Other resources come from grants for special projects and individual members who finance their travel and other expenses. TSHL is a total volunteer group with no paid staff or office. As a member-driven organization, TSHL is not supported by state funds.

giving opportunities

As a Friend of the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature (TSHL), you can help the TSHL in its efforts to:

  • Encourage senior citizens to participate more actively in public affairs, in the interest of good government for all Texans.
  • Encourage more non-partisan discussion and debate on senior citizen issues.
  • Provide older citizens with avenues to serve as senior issue resources in both public and private sectors, and to interact with other citizen groups, organizations, and agencies.
  • Adopt selected senior issues as legislative priorities for the Texas Legislature to consider.

The Foundation actively solicits tax-deductible gifts, grants, and donations that will support the operational expenses of the TSHL Legislature for their training and orientation meetings, and its research and policy-development activities.

Click on the button below to make a donation to the Friends of the Texas Silver-Haired Legislature. Using Paypal.com, your tax-deductible donation can be made safely and easily with any major credit card. You can also mail in your donation by downloading the “Friends of the TSHL” Application.
